Program Manager, Continuous Learning
We are seeking a Program Manager to develop, coordinate, and deliver a range of continuous learning opportunities to our network of members and partners.
The position is full-time (40 hours per week) based out of our office located near Jack London Square. The position will require local travel to off-site meetings and events and occasional evening and weekend hours. Compensation for this salaried, exempt position is dependent on experience and includes a great benefits package.
The ideal applicant will have at least 3-5 years of experience as an educator in a school or community-based setting along with a deep understanding of the developmental stages of reading and writing and familiarity with literacy curriculums and instructional strategies, particularly for the early grades. They also have at least 3-5 years of experience designing programs, curriculum, or trainings and a strong background in project management.
We are seeking an Outreach Coordinator for our Oakland Reads mini-grants programs (Family Reading Celebrations and Summer Reading Mini Grants). The position will be key in building a broader network of community and faith-based grantee organizations and supporting them to plan and implement fun and impactful family literacy events.
This is a six-month, part-time independent contractor position. We anticipate that the role will require 6-10 hours per week, the majority of which will be spent out in the community with partner organizations. The position will be paid hourly at a rate of $18-$20 depending on experience. The initial contract will be for six months with a possibility to extend upon completion.
The ideal candidate will have a community outreach or organizing background and deep knowledge of the Oakland community and landscape of community and faith-based organizations and leaders. Experience planning community or school-based events preferred. Independent work style and pro-active, professional communication a must.
